Job overview:

Midwest Logistics Systems (MLS) is seeking a Regional Manager to join our team! You will supervise and assist Terminal Managers with the planning and management of shipments from supplier to customer. In addition, you will be coordinating with Terminal Managers, HR Manager, and Recruiting department regarding available office and driver positions and facilitate the onboarding and training of new employees. 

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and allocate equipment to respective terminals and customers based on efficient utilization.
  • Assist with monitoring driver electronic logs and available hours of service.
  • Ensure shipping document protocols are properly followed (internal and customer-based).
  • Assist with enforcement of company policies and DOT/FMCSR requirements, including facilitating safety-related coaching/training.
  • Work with HR Manager and Director of Safety and Compliance regarding employment decisions and remedial and disciplinary actions.

Skills and qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of verifiable experience in a supervisory role involving DOT/FMCSR requirements for Class A CDL drivers (tractor-trailers) in the trucking industry.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication, conflict resolution, and relationship-building skills.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other Windows applications.
  • High proficiency with and knowledge of trucking safety regulations, including ELD systems, hours of service, and CDL driver qualifications.
  • Substantial knowledge of other DOT laws and the FMCSRs.
  • General understanding of other federal and state employment & labor laws/regulations (including FMLA, FLSA, ADA, ADEA, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, etc.)
